6 Mitzvahs, 7 Weeks
Constant Benefits

So there it is. We have actually completed the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios, but it is really just the beginning. Because each of the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios, as we explained, we have just given ourselves a little hatchway, a little access point to each one of them, so  we can use them right away and draw down Sechar 365 24/7. But ultimately, you can spend a lifetime on each one and still not complete all of the knowledge and wisdom that is available there.  But  lets do a quick review so that we can really take these along with us wherever we go, wherever we are.

The first Mitzvah of the Shaish Mitzvos Temidious is Layda Ulhamin Sheyesh  Shom Elokah, to know that there is a Borei Olam, to know that there is a G-D. If you have any confusion about that, well get it fixed. Speak to someone. There are a lot of great people out there, but first of all and foremost we have to know that we are motivated in every aspect of our lives, and everything that we do makes a tremendous difference.

The second mitzvah was Ein Zuloso, there is no power outside of the Almighty. Don’t think that somehow that inside of us that there exist this G-D that reigns, that has desires. When your ego becomes involved in things it will tell you that your success is due to your own credit. Well, if you take credit for your success you are going to have to take credit for your failures.  And how many times can you fail and take credit for that, not be frustrated enough to simply walk away? Game is not over as long as we keep trying. So take pleasure in your success; it comes from Hakadosh Boruch Hu.  And when something doesn’t go right, Gam Zu Ltovah!

Mitzvah number 3 is Yichud Hashem, the oneness, or unity, of Hakadosh Boruch Hu. Don’t fall into the quagmire and trap that is the ‘Fudge Factor’. We make excuses for ourselves. Figure out your bottom line behavior in life. Figure out what is acceptable and what is not and then stick to it during all times and all seasons. There is no difference to Hakadosh Boruch Hu what time of year it is, what season of year it is, or what zip code you live in.

Mitzvah Number 4 is the mitzvah of Ahavas Hashem, the mitzvah to love Hakadosh Boruch Hu. You might ask yourselves, how can I be obligated to a feeling, to love?  And the answer we spoke about was, that if a person simply counts his blessings all the time, the feeling of loving Hakadosh Boruch Hu flows automatically. What does it mean when you have blessings? It means that Hashem loves you. It means you give yourself permission to love yourself. That is how being positive begins. Without it we cannot be positive. If you think Hashem has it in for you chas vshalom in some way, you are going to walk around depressed. But if you feel Hakadosh Boruch Hu loves us, that Hakadosh Boruch Hu, running the entire universe, is smiling on us, then we feel absolutely positive. We can go out, be charged up and conquer the world.

Mitzvah Number 5 is the mitzvah of Yiras Hashem .  It would sound like Yiras Hashem is a very scary thing, but if we are really smart, we understand that it is absolutely impossible to live life without yirah. Yirah is what helps get the nonsense out of the way. We should be terrified of the things that we know can bring us down in life. We should make sure to avoid those at all costs because they will destroy our relationship Chas Vshalom with Hakadosh Boruch Hu. Know what it is that your weakness is and make sure that you pay attention to it all the time, like the brake pedal in the car. Make sure it is maintained, make sure it is in the shop. If your brakes aren’t working on a particular day, you know what you do? You go, make sure you  bring your car in to the shop and make sure you figure out what went wrong- and how it will not go wrong in the future. Get those brakes fixed.

And finally, Mitzvah number 6 is the mitzvah of VLo Sosuru Acharei Livavchem, Vacharei Eyneichem.  You can have a tremendous fear factor that is working for you and it is great, but ultimately, there are certain challenges that are bigger than we are.  And somehow, when we get involved with the base passions of the heart which is greed and power,  which has to do with atheism, then what happens is that we become drunk, we get caught up in our own power, and we don’t notice the collateral damage.

Forbidden relationships, things we should not be looking at. The Torah is giving us insight and telling us that this is so powerful that we are constantly chasing after these things, and if we are not on guard against them what is going to happen is that we cannot possibly win them. And therefore it is a constant. Just say No. As soon as you give in just a little bit, it consumes us and we can’t stop anymore.

The Sheish Mitzvos Temidios, Six Constant Mitzvos,  we can use every single one of them to enhance our lives in ways that are indescribable, that are physical, that are spiritual, but ultimately, we all want to realize our own potential. And in order to do so, Hakadosh Boruch Hu determined that these Mitzvos must be Constant, they have to be our constant companions in life

Think of them, review them, and when you have a spare moment, you are riding a train or you are riding a bus or whatever it is that you are doing,  if you just refer to them in your mind, you are drawing down unlimited reward.

So you are worried – “how am I going to remember the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios?’ So here is a mnemonic device that you will be able to use, and remember them for the rest of your life.  To know the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios is in reality to know life itself. The key words are Know Life. We are going to spell it a little differently; otherwise you WILL forget them. So what we are going to do is, we are going to spell it ‘K’ ‘N’ ‘O’  ‘L’ ‘F’ ‘E’

The first of the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios is to KNOW and to believe that there is a Borei Olam.  That is the letter ‘K’.

The second of the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios is that there is NO other G-D. That is the letter ‘N’.

The third one is the Oneness or Unity of Hakasdosh Boruch Hu.  The letter ‘O’.  ‘K’ ‘N’ ‘O’ – Know.

The fourth one is the mitzvah to Love Hakadosh Boruch Hu, the letter ‘L’.

The fifth one is to Fear Hakadosh Boruch Hu, which is the letter ‘F’.

And finally the sixth one is -  and it gets a little tricky, Explore NOT, Vlo Sosuru, Explore Not,  the letter E.    ‘K’ ‘N’ ‘O’  ‘L’ ‘F’ ‘E’.  To know the Shaish Mitzvos Temidios is indeed to know life itself. Use them, become terrific, go out and be very, very successful.  And Bezer Hashem, when you do, you will be uplifted along with all of Klal Yisroel, at which point we WILL merit the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu.  Thank you very much
